lyrics
How far is your fat-fingered reach?
Low enough to catch a kitten’s teeth?
What do you have between your checkered cheeks
That doesn’t taste like pig’s feet?
How do I pardon your perverted breach?
Am I a person or a piece of meat?
The only legacy you stand to leave
Is what you have left when you take your goddamn hands off me
How long is your sniveling beak?
Long enough to bag a bully’s cheat?
Nothing you say can save your sick deceit
From what your freedom means now
You chose to be
The feral servant of an evil dream
And may the future lay it at your feet
Where there is nothing left of you to teach
But that you fucked the world but you did not fuck me
The great fall, the big fight
The sting of a self-inflicted bite
That festers, unsolved
With the vitriol of the unevolved
There’s no counter, no cure
No way to make the world work
You may scream, you may shout
You’re still rotting from the inside out
And I'm not waiting to see
I know you'll try to fuck the world
But you will not fuck me
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
