Buckle up cuz Brooklyn's The Royal They are already kicking down the door with their sophomore LP 'Foreign Being' and it's a monster of soaring vocal mania, off-kilter riffage, and more hooks than a tackle box.

lyrics
Shut my mind down, down
Down and out with the waste
Not an idea in my head
That did not come in through my face
I’ve got the time, time
Just can’t seem to find any space
I could have sworn that was original, though
Oh fuck, am I addicted?
Or just under control?
I’m so happy to be happy
I don’t even know what I’m happy for
Had enough?
Or should we ratchet it up?
How far ya gonna push
If you don't know when to stop?
You’re a taker, not a giver
But you’re glad to give it all that you’ve got
You’ve got a t-t-t-t-twitch in your eye
Yeah, you’re in a rage
But you don’t even know why
Just an actor
A reactor
All too busy getting ready to die
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
